Evaluating your level of effort and participation on Athletics Day
Make a judgement of and explain your level of effort and participation on Athletics Day.Also explain what factors (who, what) influenced that level of effort and participation.
I believe my participation in Athletics was quite impressive. There is room for improvement but I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements I had accomplished and the many events I participated in. I am not completely satisfied with the amount of effort but knowing I could have done better pushes me to strive harder and improve for future activities. I participated in the 100m, 200m, 3000m, 800m, 400m, long jump, javelin, shot put, discus, and the relay. Definitely surrounding myself with people who critique and help me to move forward is something that influenced my participation throughout this whole campaign. With the never ending support and encouragement of my peers and teachers I was able to push to the best of my ability and meet most of my goals:)
10 events in one day IS quite impressive Jojo! No wonder you are proud of your participation level. Your ability to explain,in detail and justify your judgements is growing stronger with every post too. Finally,I like the expressive words you are using - makes it interesting to read. Haere tonu.
On Athletics Day my Participation was Wonderful I was really proud of myself because I Done things that I thought I would have never done. But I know I never reached all of my goals So I will try and go harder next time.I’m really happy with what I have Achieved this year like getting 25m in discus. I took part in the (200m,400m,Shot Put,Long Jump,Discus, and Javelin). People who I work with really impact my effect/Participation because they push me and help me to learn new skills and techniques that helped me reach most of my goals this year.
I am pleased you did things you had not done before Xavier as it indicates that you are challenging yourself and growing as a trainer and a learner -kapai. Good to see you achieved such a good result in Discus too AND that you intend to challenge yourself even more next year. I look forward to witnessing that.
I believe that my level of participation on Athletics Day was quite notable as I participated in eight out of eleven events triumphantly finishing the day with satisfying scores. My best score was from Shot put giving me a whopping 63 points and the only performance goal that I reached was from Discus giving me a satisfactory amount of 20.10m. Despite the accomplishments of my scores and participation rate I strongly believe that there still remain areas for continued development. The three main events that I would prioritize for further enhancing are Discus, Javelin and Shot put. Going into the Athletics Day I had high expectations for myself to do well in the three events that I mentioned because I trained and practiced the most to improve my skills and technique. Although I trained a lot to improve my technique I was only able to achieve one of my goals. Throughout the whole day I surrounded myself with people who I knew were going to support my decisions and encourage me to do my best. These types of people are the people who influenced my participation, putting forth the best version of me.
Yes - I think your probably built for the throwing events KC Jean with your height and long levers (limbs). Participating in 8 / 11 events is a great effort and may have played a part in not gaining the results you may have hoped for. We only have so much fuel in the tank! Awesome stuff KC Jean.
On athletics day I wish I could have managed my time well so I didn’t miss out on half of the running events such as 1500, 400 etc, to improve that next time I will listen out to the events being called out on the speaker. However I rate my participation 8.5 out of 10 being I just needed a little more confidence in myself even if this is my third athletics day. I was nervous that I would not achieve the goals that I set but having a positive and talented group of my pairs around me advance my motivation to push myself to the limit where my body was done at the end of the day. Seeing each person have a try made me wanna try harder as best as I could.
Although I share your disappointment that you missed events you would have performed well in and gained good pentathlon points for Alisi, at least you have identified how to ensure that doesn't happen next year. Goal setting is supposed to motivate not hinder great effort and performance. Strive for them but don't get too bent out of shape if you don't achieve them.
OK - on Athletics Day, I was told once the day was nearly over that people couldn't hear the announcements despite the volume being at full blast. Its a bit late but I'll definitely move it to a more suitable location. At the same time, I respect there are challenges to making sure you are there to enter as many events as you wish by knowing the schedule.
On athletics day I participated in as many events as I could and on some I think I did quite well as I tried very hard in every event I participated in. I did miss out on some events because I didn't have very good time management, but i participated in shot put, javelin, 400m, discus, long jump and high jump. What influenced my participation was my friends and everyone around me, everyone was very supportive also trying to get as many points for my house as I could.
Participating in 6 of 10 events is still a good day I think even though the obvious omission would be the running events. If you were aware, once you see Jr Girls on the track, next up would be the Int Girls but that also requires some familiarity with the track schedule. Live and learn -there's always next year and as a Y12 student, I suspect you will find yourself leading your house by example.
I judge athletics day as a good day for you to shine and show everyone the skills that you have worked on. On Athletics my participation was great because I did 9 events out of 11. I've done more activities this year then i did last year. I give my self a 8 out of 10 because I missed the 1500,100 and the high jump and I did not get to participation in the events that I wanted to do.
I'm disappointed for you that you missed High Jump too Sayden as you had trained so purposely AND you were clearing some good heights.Hei aha - a lesson learned- ensure you make it to HJ next year. Great effort in your relay though. I love that you take such a positive attitude into Athletics Day - 'a chance to shine' - love it!
I agree with Whaea Ruth. Competing in that number of events shows you really embraced the house spirit in doing your best not only for your own personal satisfaction but in really doing what you could to help Rata House.
I think my participation level in athletics was great because I tried my best and had great attendance in the activities on the day. I participated in most events but missed the 1500m. My records were not that good but I earned some points for my house. For the 3000m I ran it the day before athletics day. The best score I got was for discus, although I never qualified for 1,2,3,I beat my own record by 1 metre. I beat my record in high jump by 5mm but it was when I was playing around with Devountea. I am proud of what I achieved and hope to do it next year.
It sounds like you had a great day Hemana and you must really get a great deal of satisfaction for your efforts. If you think back, the quality of your training in PE was always going to reflect in your performances on Athletics Day (I think). We all know this but if you put the hard mahi into your training, you are far more likely to improve your performances. I'm a big believer in reaping what you sow. You get what you earn!
i think my level of participation was great because i tried my best at every training and tried my hardest every time. i beet most of my last years records like for the 100m i beet it by 1 second. i was really proud of my self because i did nearly every event except for long jump. in high jump i think i could have jumped much higher but i didn't have enough time. when i saw my classmates training and running up the 100m lanes it motivates me to be like them and run faster.
Improving on your performances from one year to the next is excellent Kade. Can you just imagine how much better your results would have been if you were to spend even more time in training for events. You did miss quite a few training days which had to play some part in your overall results. You may find as you get one year older, you may be improving on levels of strength or other aspects of fitness that would support improved performances in athletics
My participation level will be very low because I showed up late and sick. I showed up just in time for 200m but I could barely walk so I didn’t even try. I feel like I could have participated much more if I really pushed myself. I didn’t feel any motivation or influence at all throughout my 2 hours of spectating. After watching the 100m finals I felt motivated to run or at least try and participate in something but it was too late. Leaving athletics day I knew I could have done more but I didn’t.
I felt sad for you that you were too weak and ill to participate well in Athletics Day events Cohen. Hopefully, you noted times, distances and height measurements that you were gaining in Athletics training in your Log It or Lose It diary so you can still fulfill your pentathlon requirements.
It is what it is. Bad timing with your illness around athletics day. The last thing anyone wants is for you to feel you have to go out there and push yourself when your body says "No Way" and you ended up doing more harm than good. Bad timing......move on.
Make a judgment and explain the level of your participation on Athletics Day: Also explain what influence level of participation: I feel as though my level of participation was excellent, because i tried in all the events i did to my very best ability. The events i participated in was Discus, Shot put, Javelin and long jump an event im very proud of is shot put because i not only came first but almost beat the record of 10.9 but was of my 4cm. Something i would change is making sure i told the long jump Coordinators that u needed a Verified score for HPE. What influenced my level of participation was doing Everything in the best of my ability.
I am really proud of your efforts Dez. I know many athletics events pose a challenge but you overcame those and a part of me really wishes you had nailed that shot put record as I know you spent quite a bit of training time working on improving in that event. It's pretty difficult to ask someone to do more than their very best if you think about it. I hope you've gained a lot of satisfaction and positive vibes from your efforts and can comfortably move on to the next chapter.
I personally think that my level of participation on the day of Athletics was excellent because I and participated in many events and tried my very best in every single one. I was able to participate in 8 events out of 11 including High Jump, Long Jump, Javelin, Discus, Shot Put, 400m, 200m and 100m. Having my peers there with me motivating and encouraging me to do all events with them made me participate in more knowing that I had people there to do it with me.
On the 10th of march 2020 we had Athletics day we got told to answer there 2 questions: Make a judgement and explain the level of your participation on Athletics Day: Also explain what influence level of participation: I give myself a 9 ½ out of 10 because I know for a fact I can do better than I did on the day I subtracted a ½ a point because I did 9 event’s but missed the 1500m and 3000m.I was ashamed of the numbers I got because there nothing I got in my practice runs,To me I was ammo as.But still less I did as much as i could for my house. What influence my level all the bros having a day where all the bros compete against each other it’s good because you can see who’s sweetie and who’s not.
I'm struggling with some of the street slang but I think I've got a pretty good idea of where you're going with this. Competing in 9 events on the day is great for Miro House but it has to come at a cost in terms of your own individual performances. I remember watching you in a couple of the running events and it was obvious there wasn't much left in the tank. I guess you have to balance what is most important but the fact you competed in all but one event says a lot about the person you are! I'll have you on my team any day!
I believe my participation could have been better if I organised myself and participated in as many events possible. Especially the track events. I am not completely satisfied with my participation level because of the important events I missed out on. I missed out on the 100m because I was focused on breaking the record for intermediate girls javelin which I did, but it resulted in a foul. Beforehand I should have organised myself and trained harder during my training's. On Athletics day, I participated in the 400m, javelin, shot put, discus, long jump, high jump and the relay. Before athletics day I ran the 100m, 1500m and the 3000m run to gain extra points in order for our house, Totara, to win. At the end of the day I think I did well but I didn't participate in as many events as I would have liked to.
Make a judgement of your level of participation on athletics day. Also explain what influenced your level of participation I feel my participation was excellent as I tried to take part in as many events as possible to the best of my ability. I was at Javelin when the call for the 1500m was called and unfortunately I missed the waka! Although I missed one of the events, I participated in the other 10 events! What influenced my level of participation was the fact that Miro never wins and I really wanted to see that change.
Haha - missed the waka - you write just like you speak Moana. However 10 events (plus the two relays) was a superb participation level Moana. He mihi nui ki a koe.
My participation level for athletics day was pretty good, i beat most of my scores, i tried and contributed in every event i did the only event i did not try on was javelin.
On athletics day I participated in and completed the remainder of my pentathlon events ( SP, LJ, JV, DC,) . Though I don’t think that I completed them to the best of my abilities I did participate fully, I even beat my goal for Shot put. I don’t think I did as good as I could've because I didn’t have as much faith in myself as I should have. So that’s something I’ll work on from now on. As for what influenced my level of participation, it would have to be my determination to pass this unit of PE as well as the people who supported me throughout the day . It was also really cool to see my peers achieving high results for their events as well and seeing them do their best. Overall it was a wicked day and I enjoyed spending it with my friends:).
Well you certainly "passed the athletics unit" Maraea so that's one box ticked. I think sometimes we underestimate the importance of engaging in physical activity with our mates. Whether you have faith in your own abilities or not might be a bit of an esteem thing especially as you are required to perform in front of a crowd. Taking part in athletics with your mates and enjoying their company makes for a day out with them only in a different setting you'll only get once a year. I'm really pleased with you achievement in the unit and you can move on to the next unit. Paper.
Athletics day. The hardest day and most enjoying day ever. I participated in 10 events and I am the 2nd intimidate champion for the school and my level of participation was very high and amazing.
I actually didn't get to see a lot of your trainings in the PE unit but on Athletics Day, I have a new found appreciation of just how talented you are in Athletics. I also got to see you compete against the very best at the Northland Athletics Championship where you did really well.
I believe that my participation on Athletics Day was about a 7/10 because I didn’t make as much of an effort to attempt the sprints and ended up only running 1. I did try my hardest on the events I did attend though and I was always proud of my results. I participated in 7 / 11 events and had so much fun in all of them. My favourite was Javelin because I was surprised with my results and I was glad that I put what I learnt into it and achieved my goal.
I've said this to you and Alisi before but with your quick arm swing in volleyball, you will be able to transfer some of that skill to javelin throwing. Of course, you then have to add in the approach, turn, plant etc but when you can improve on those aspects of the entire javelin then add in a very good arm swing, you should expect improved performances. From my observations, with your long arms (levers), the potential to throw quite a bit further is definitely there. All we can ask is that you try your best and see what happens.
On athletics day I participated in 100m, 200m, 400m, shot put, javelin, discus, long jump and high jump. The only two events I didn't do were the 800m and 1500m because i missed out. What effected my level of participation and effort had to be wanting my house to do better and having fun in the events with my friends. I tried my hardest in every event i participated in.
Yeah - it was a great effort on your first BOIC athletics Day Kreedynce. With the number of events you entered on the day, you definitely did your part for Rata House. I'm curious to see if you had any improved performances in your 5 selected PE events.
I think my participation level was low because I didn't enter in all events. Why I didn’t because I was saving myself from getting all gas out in all the races. so I did 7 events and I know I can do all of them and better than I did. What influenced me to do athletics was myself because I set a mind set goal into getting better in things that I’m not good at and so I can overcome and get better at it.
Yes well, that's something you have to manage isn't it TK? Do you go all out in every event knowing it will sacrifice your performances in your 5 targeted events or do you just focus on those conserving your energy for each event? You have to be the one to make the call here. Either way, I don't think you lose. In this case you are competing for yourself and your house and I thought your efforts on the day were great so well done.
On athletics day my level of particpation was at a great level as I took part in most evetns. ( long jump, high jump, 100m, 200 m , 400 m, 800 m, discus, javlein and shotput). However I did not reach my goals I had set for the day. what had affected my level of particapation had been wanting my house to beeter and having fun in the events with me friends. I tried my hardest in all of my events I had taken part in. Overall it was a good day
Well - there's no a whole lot more you can ask from our athletics day participants Thomas. I suspect the effort you put in with the 9 events comes at a cost in terms of your own individual performances and trying to better your results in PE lessons. You've got the right attitude though and I thought you were tremendous on the day. A great effort and now you can move on to the next unit.
I think I did a little poorly in the events that I participated in because I wasn't able to reach my standards in the events that i had played in so I give myself a 7/10. I participated in 7 events including relay although I did not place in any of the events I still tried. Not my best but I still tried
On athletics day I participated in 9 events including the relays and well rewarded with 7 placings ranging at five first placings and two second placings which were High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, 100m race, 800m race and the 200m race. I believe my level of participation would be a Merit as I didn't achieve most of the goals I set for each event. But I am proud of my level of ability to conquer most achievements.
The people who influenced me throughout the day to participate in nearly all of the events was my house (TOTARA). They influenced me with great support that motivated myself to push me out of my boundaries and aim for my goal. In the end it was a successful day.
I LOVE IT POSH! We were all stunned by your achievements! You're effort and participation in every event encouraged many others to engage in the events on athletics day. Kia mau te wehi!
Well Poshy, your physically talented and as long as you put in a decent effort, you're going to do well - and you did very well! Whether you realise it or not, you are one who leads by example in athletics. One thing your house is very good at is supporting each other and embracing the athletics day ethos. It is something that is sadly missing in the other houses, especially across the senior school. Totara will always take out the Athletics Day title and you will continue to be one of those leading your house in your remaining days at Bay College.
On athletics day I feel I participated very well in all the events I attended. I feel I did very well because I didn't miss any events that I had set my goals to . I attended 8 events on the day and I challenged myself in all of them . My motivation were my friends, they pushed me to do events that i wasn't planning on doing, for participation points. They motivated me to get up and go to every event that was called for my grade. I improved on all the events I did, I feel I succeeded all my goals when I got higher results than expected. I learnt alot and researched a lot before athletics and on the day it all paid off when I succeeded my goals. Overall I am proud of myself and everyone that achieved athletics.
As i was going in for the throw i could feel the tension coming through and threw it as far as i could and then what do you know i accomplished my goal
On Athletics day I participated in 9 events not including the finals. I felt like I did my part for getting points for Miro and I felt really proud. I defenitly pushed my self to the max and I accomplished my goals that I had set for my self to inspire me to try even harder in the finals and North-land athletics day. The fact I got to race up against the top intermediate boys in our school was an honour. After the athletics day people were coming up to me saying how my race with Laetin and Hoani was probably the best race to watch. I actually felt very proud and I would probably rate my effort a solid 8/10.
The people who influenced me the most was probably my mates as they clapped for me as I ran past them during my races.
What influenced me on the day was the encouragement I got from my friends and them telling me to do my best in all the activities as well as demonstrating how to do activities I wasn't confident in during training.
trying my best at javelin at all time and also shot pot and discus. At athletics day i was bad at shot pot and i clouded get 25 m. I hope i can do it better.I am trying my best at this and i am good to go.
I believe my participation in Athletics was quite impressive. There is room for improvement but I couldn’t be more proud of the achievements I had accomplished and the many events I participated in. DeleteOn the 10th of march 2020 we had Athletics day we got told to answer there 2 questions:
ReplyDeleteMake a judgement and explain the level of your participation on Athletics Day:
Also explain what influence level of participation:
I give myself a 9 ½ out of 10 because I know for a fact I can do better than I did on the day I subtracted a ½ a point because I did 9 event’s but missed the 1500m and 3000m.I was ashamed of the numbers I got because there nothing I got in my practice runs,To me I was ammo as.But still less I did as much as i could for my house.
DeleteI believe my participation could have been better if I organised myself and participated in as many events possible. Especially the track events.
ReplyDeleteI am not completely satisfied with my participation level because of the important events I missed out on.
Also explain what influenced your level of participation
ReplyDeleteI feel my participation was excellent as I tried to take part in as many events as possible to the best of my ability.
DeleteMy participation level for athletics day was pretty good, i beat most of my scores, i tried and contributed in every event i did the only event i did not try on was javelin.
ReplyDeleteSpot on Hikairo thats very good you particapted in nearly every event in Athletics day
DeleteOn athletics day I participated in and completed the remainder of my pentathlon events ( SP, LJ, JV, DC,) .
ReplyDeleteWell you certainly "passed the athletics unit" Maraea so that's one box ticked. Paper.
DeleteAthletics day. The hardest day and most enjoying day ever. I participated in 10 events and I am the 2nd intimidate champion for the school and my level of participation was very high and amazing.
ReplyDeleteI actually didn't get to see a lot of your trainings in the PE unit but on Athletics Day, I have a new found appreciation of just how talented you are in Athletics. I also got to see you compete against the very best at the Northland Athletics Championship where you did really well.
DeleteI believe that my participation on Athletics Day was about a 7/10 because I didn’t make as much of an effort to attempt the sprints and ended up only running 1. I did try my hardest on the events I did attend though and I was always proud of my results. I participated in 7 / 11 events and had so much fun in all of them. My favourite was Javelin because I was surprised with my results and I was glad that I put what I learnt into it and achieved my goal.
ReplyDeleteI've said this to you and Alisi before but with your quick arm swing in volleyball, you will be able to transfer some of that skill to javelin throwing.
DeleteOn athletics day I participated in 100m, 200m, 400m, shot put, javelin, discus, long jump and high jump. The only two events I didn't do were the 800m and 1500m because i missed out. What effected my level of participation and effort had to be wanting my house to do better and having fun in the events with my friends. I tried my hardest in every event i participated in.
ReplyDeletehi
DeleteSo pleased to see that you a committing to your house so loyally Kreedynce and that you had fun on Athletics Day.
ReplyDeleteYeah - it was a great effort on your first BOIC athletics Day Kreedynce. With the number of events you entered on the day, you definitely did your part for Rata House. I'm curious to see if you had any improved performances in your 5 selected PE events.
DeleteI think my participation level was low because I didn't enter in all events. Why I didn’t because I was saving myself from getting all gas out in all the races. so I did 7 events and I know I can do all of them and better than I did. What influenced me to do athletics was myself because I set a mind set goal into getting better in things that I’m not good at and so I can overcome and get better at it.
ReplyDeleteYes well, that's something you have to manage isn't it TK? Do you go all out in every event knowing it will sacrifice your performances in your 5 targeted events or do you just focus on those conserving your energy for each event? You have to be the one to make the call here. Either way, I don't think you lose. In this case you are competing for yourself and your house and I thought your efforts on the day were great so well done.
DeleteOn athletics day my level of particpation was at a great level as I took part in most evetns. Overall it was a good day
ReplyDeleteWell - there's no a whole lot more you can ask from our athletics day participants Thomas. I suspect the effort you put in with the 9 events comes at a cost in terms of your own individual performances and trying to better your results in PE lessons. You've got the right attitude though and I thought you were tremendous on the day. A great effort and now you can move on to the next unit.
DeleteI think I did a little poorly in the events that I participated in because I wasn't able to reach my standards in the events that i had played in so I give myself a 7/10. I participated in 7 events including relay although I did not place in any of the events I still tried. Not my best but I still tried
ReplyDeleteforgot got the full stop
Delete10 lashes with the holy beads.
Deleteand that 1 little I
DeleteOn athletics day I participated in 9 events including the relays and well rewarded with 7 placings ranging at five first placings and two second placings which were High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, 100m race, 800m race and the 200m race. I believe my level of participation would be a Merit as I didn't achieve most of the goals I set for each event. But I am proud of my level of ability to conquer most achievements.
ReplyDeleteThe people who influenced me throughout the day to participate in nearly all of the events was my house (TOTARA).
DeleteWell Poshy, your physically talented and as long as you put in a decent effort, you're going to do well - and you did very well!

ReplyDeleteOn athletics day I feel I participated very well in all the events I attended. I feel I did very well because I didn't miss any events that I had set my goals to . I attended 8 events on the day and I challenged myself in all of them .
ReplyDeleteMy motivation were my friends, they pushed me to do events that i wasn't planning on doing, for participation points.
I am most proud in discus because at the start of athletics training I could only throw around 12-13m and on the day I threw 18m
DeleteAs i was going in for the throw i could feel the tension coming through and threw it as far as i could and then what do you know i accomplished my goal
DeleteOn Athletics day I participated in 9 events not including the finals.
ReplyDeleteThe people who influenced me the most was probably my mates as they clapped for me as I ran past them during my races.
What influenced me on the day was the encouragement I got from my friends and them telling me to do my best in all the activities as well as demonstrating how to do activities I wasn't confident in during training.
